1 Pet. 5:10
God, who shows you his kindness and who has called you through Christ Jesus to his eternal glory, will restore you, strengthen you, make you strong, and support you as you suffer for a little while.
No matter what challenges or difficulties we face or go through here on earth they are temporary and are as Paul called them “light afflictions” compared to God’s eternal glory that awaits us. In the midst of the challenges we face here on earth keep looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, for He will give you the strength to overcome any challenge you face. In the midst of challenging situations maintain a heart of gratitude by thanking God for what He has done through Christ to give you the victory in every situation. As you look to Jesus, not what is in the natural, and keep thanking God for all He has done, He will strengthen you and bring you through any challenge you face.

1 Peter 2:5
…you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
One of the primary goals for the believer is to become spiritual (led by our spirit man, the real you), not carnal (led by our flesh). You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body. Just as man has learned how to develop his body and his soul, you can develop your spirit man. This is what every believer should do for when your spirit man is dominate, this new nature made in the image of God will control and direct you. To develop your spirit man you need to:
1. Meditate on the Word of God.
2. Practice the Word.
3. Give the Word first place.
4. Obey your conscience (the voice of your spirit).
5. Pray in the Spirit.
6. Walk in love.
Do these things and you will grow spiritually. As you do the old flesh nature will no longer rule you and you will walk out what God has planned for you.

1 Peter 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,…
Because of what Jesus did in restoring our relationship with God we now have a living hope, for our hope is in Him. Hope means a confident expectation of good. As a believer we should be living in hope every day. We do so by looking to hope past. The children of Israel had a promise given to them by God of good to come. A Messiah would come and deliver them from their sin. That expectation of God came to pass just as God had said. We can now live in hope present looking at all that scripture teaches us that Christ has fulfilled for us and therefore we can expect good to come to pass based on all that He has done. We can also live in hope to come as we know Jesus will return for His church and we will ever be with the Lord. All who are born again are no longer without hope for our God is that hope. Don’t live a hopeless life. Look to His Word and expect what He has said to come to pass in your life for God is good to all who call upon Him.

Philippians 4:19
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
The apostle Paul writing this letter inspired by the Holy Spirit to the church at Philippi in verse 15 of this same chapter had commended this group of believers for being the only church that consistently gave to help Paul preach the gospel. Because they had done so he makes this declaration that God would supply all their need. He knew this to be true for God had said in Genesis 8:22 as long as the earth remains this law will be at work in the earth, seedtime and harvest. Jesus Himself said if you give it shall be given unto you. God established this governing law in the earth as a way to take care of us. If you sow financially as scripture teaches you will reap, it is that simple. Jesus also said where you treasure is their your heart will be also. If you are grateful for the salvation Christ has given you, then you will freely give to the work of the gospel. In doing so you put your faith in God and you put the law of sowing and reaping into effect. When you do God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory.

Galatians 2:16
…nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified.
We were justified (given right standing with God) not by works, but through faith in Christ. Justified means God declares you righteous or right with Him. God sees you just as if you had never sinned for you are a new creation in Christ. As Romans 5:1 tells us, we having been justified by faith now have peace with God. The wrath that God has towards man because of sin is taken away in Christ Jesus. The devil will try to convince us that God is mad at us for things we have done trying to get us to pull away from God. Don’t fall for this lie. We choose to do what is right in God’s sight because of what He has done for us but If you do miss it as a believer don’t run from God, run to Him. You have been given peace with Him because of justification. Peace means harmony between God and man. God is not against us, He is for us. So don’t fall for the lie that God must be against you. Because of justification we NOW HAVE peace with God and He is for us because we are one with Him.

2 Corinthians 5:18
Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,…
Through Jesus Christ we have been reconciled to God. Reconciled means to make an exchange. He took our sin and He gave us His righteousness. It is this righteousness (right standing with God) that gives us the right to all we have in Christ. We now have a ministry to go and reconcile others to God. In the verse that follows the above scripture it goes on to tell us that God was in Christ Jesus reconciling the world to Himself, no longer counting their sins against them. To reconcile others to Christ we need to let people know that God has already dealt with their sins through the cross. It is not all their sins that is now separating them from God but in fact in John 16:8-9 Jesus tells us that there is one sin that is hindering man from receiving the reconciliation that God has provided and that is the sin of not putting their faith in Jesus Christ. In the eyes of God the world has been reconciled to Him for there is nothing more that He needs to do. They simply need to put their faith in Him. Time for the church to go and shine their light to those in darkness and let them know God is waiting on them.

Romans 7:4
Likewise, my brethren, you have undergone death as to the Law through the [crucified] body of Christ, so that now you may belong to Another, to Him Who was raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God.
Once born again we now belong to God, we are not our own. Because we are His we should no longer look like, sound like, nor act like the world. We should bear godly fruit. You are in the world but no longer of the world. In John 15:7-8 we are told if we abide in Jesus and His Word abides in us we will bear fruit unto God. God’s Word is abiding or alive in us to the degree we live in obedience to the Word. We don’t become born again to keep living the way we have always lived, but to now follow in the Lord’s example for our life. As the above scripture states we now belong to Another, we belong to the Lord. He purchased us through His shed blood. That is the reason you call upon the Lord to be saved. This refers to making Jesus the Lord over your life. He is now Supreme in authority, so we should no longer be calling the shots, but looking to the One who purchased our life. If you want to bear godly fruit you must keep Jesus as the Lord of your life and not be your own Lord. Remember Who you belong to. You will be glad you did.

Romans 5:17
For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Those who are in Christ Jesus are not to be ruled by what happens in life, but to rule in this life they live. We can reign in life because of our right standing with God and through His grace (heavens help) which we received through Jesus Christ. God gives grace to the humble. Simply put, as we humble ourselves before God we will walk in the help He offers. Humility before God means we take God at His Word. We choose to believe what it says about us, and we choose to walk in His ways without hesitation. To reign in this life we must also recognize our right standing with God. We receive this the moment we are born again through this gift of righteousness. This gift is what gives us as children of God the right to our authority in Christ Jesus. So remain humble, accepting God’s Word without reservation, and use the authority God has given to you through His gift of righteousness to reign victorious in this life.

Colossians 2:3
God has hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge in Christ.
All the wisdom and all the knowledge we need is found in our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the Word made flesh, and through the Word of God we can get this wisdom and knowledge. When we lack knowledge we lack the ability to know what God knows about something. Lacking knowledge means we are ignorant, not knowing what God says about a matter. Because Jesus is the Word we can go to God’s Word and find out exactly what He has to say about any subject. But knowledge of what God desires for us or wants us to know is not enough. Wisdom teaches us how to walk in the knowledge we have. For example knowledge of God’s Word teaches us that He desires to provide all our need. Wisdom teaches us how He does that. Scripture teaches as we give it shall be given to us. To walk in wisdom requires a reverence for the Lord. If you reverence Him you will walk in the wisdom He reveals. If you don’t you will keep doing things your way. If you want what is God’s will for you fulfilled, go to the Word; get knowledge and wisdom applied to your life and you will walk in His will for you.

Ephesians 3:12
In Whom, because of our faith in Him, we dare to have the boldness (courage and confidence) of free access (an unreserved approach to God with freedom and without fear).
Through Christ we now once again can approach God without fear. Our Father has provided for us the privilege of fellowship with Him. It is the very reason why Christ died. When Adam sinned his fellowship with God was broken and he became estranged from God. This brought a fear in the heart of man in approaching God for after Adam sinned he hid himself from God. Once we are born again we no longer need to live fearful of approaching God. The sin that separated us is gone and we can now once again approach God with complete confidence. So as a believer we should daily draw near to Him and He will draw near to us. We do so through His Word, prayer, and being aware of and acknowledging His presence in us every day. Don’t receive God’s grace in vain by not taking the time to fellowship with Him. The door is open so take time to draw near to Him. You will be glad you did.
