Ephesians 1:11
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, …
Every child of God has obtained an inheritance. We are heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus. 2 Peter 1:3 tells us that His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness. The children of Israel were given an inheritance in the promise land but they had to go in and possess that inheritance, even though it was already theirs. Just like the children of Israel our inheritance, all that has been given to us in Christ, is available for the taking. You possess your inheritance living by faith; believing in God’s Word, speaking in line with God’s Word, and acting as if God’s Word is true because it is. You must learn this lifestyle of faith to walk in what is yours as a child of God.

Ephesians 1:7
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace …
Through Christ we are redeemed through the blood Jesus shed for us. Redemption means liberation by the procurement of a ransom. Because of Adams act of sin in the garden mankind was taken captive by the deceiver satan himself. Man had become subject to this evil ruler. But God paid the ransom of His Son to liberate us from this evil one. All man has to do is to put their faith in Christ and call upon Him to be the Lord of their life and in doing so accept the payment made to free man. We have been liberated from spiritual death, no longer separated from God, sickness and disease, poverty and lack; all the things that came from the evil one who became the god of this world through Adams rebellion. Once saved to walk in our liberty we must confess who we now are and what we now have in Christ Jesus, for we are told to hold fast to our confession of faith. As we do so our faith filled confession based on God’s Word will become a reality in our lives. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.

Ephesians 6:10
In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].
In the Lord is where a believer can find all the strength they need. Strength to face and overcome any challenge in life. It didn’t say be strong in yourself, but in the Lord. We draw strength from Him when we draw near to Him. All who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. When we take time to quit our minds, become aware of His presence within us, the very same presence and power that raised Jesus from the dead, we will become aware of His strength. So take time to wait upon the Lord and He will renew your strength and you will mount up with wings like eagles, run and not be weary, walk and not faint.

1 John 5:20
And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.
What was the primary reason Jesus came? So that we through Him being born again could be restored back into a relationship with God. So that we could know God. Far to many believers are satisfied with getting born again and then continuing to live life on their own instead of taking time to get to know their Heavenly Father who desires to walk with them every day. There is only one way you will experience true peace, joy, and contentment in life and that is in knowing God; not just knowing about Him. As the scripture above reveals we live in fellowship with God through our fellowship with Jesus. The disciples of Jesus day did so spending time with Jesus every day. For us we do so by spending time in the Word each day for Jesus is the Word that became flesh. When we take time to fellowship with the Lord through His Word, we fellowship with our God and Father. Get to know the Word (Jesus), and you get to know your God and Father who loves you and desires to love on you. There is no one nor anything that will make your life complete except knowing God. So the door of fellowship unto the Father opens to us when we choose to open our Bible. For when we do we open the door to God.

14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
One of the keys to effect prayer is knowing what you have prayed about is God’s will for you. You can’t believe you have received something from God if you don’t know it is God’s will. But when we know we have prayed according to His will we know God not only heard our prayer, we know we have what we have asked of Him. Think of how many times people have prayed and God did not hear their prayer not because He doesn’t care about them, for He does. But the only prayer God can hear is the prayer of faith and that is a prayer based on God’s will. All we have to do is go to the Word of God and find out what His will is for us and establish that in our hearts. Then when we petition God according to His Word we will know we have our petition. Some people think God will hear them if they just pray long enough but that is not true either. God has no problem hearing any prayer that is prayed in faith according to His will. So before you petition God for anything find His will in His word. Settle it in your heart that is His will for you. Then when you pray you will know He has heard you and you have what you have asked of Him. Just keep thanking Him for what He has said is already yours.

2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
The hope we have in Him is that when we see Him we shall become like Him. This hope (confident expectation of good) is the reason we purify ourselves. The words “purifies himself” means to cleanse, and to sanctify from that which is morally wrong. This is the responsibility of each individual believer, to cleanse from their life that which is not holy in the sight of God and to be holy just as He is holy. We cleanse our life from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit awaiting His return. We do so by hiding His Word in our heart that we might not sin against Him. We remove from our life anything that would tempt us to sin. This is what Jesus meant when He said if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. He was telling us to remove things from out of our reach that would tempt us to sin. If you do sin and miss the mark immediately repent and keep chasing after God. To repent means you simply turn away from whatever sin you commit and turn to God. Finally don’t ever allow the devil nor anyone to make you think God does not love you anymore. He loves you with an everlasting love. God does not know how to not love you, for He is love. Let His love draw you to Him so the power of that love can free you from all sin.

5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him:
6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.
Many ministers talk about God’s love for us, but what about our love for God? Jesus said if we love Him we would keep His commandments. We walk as He walked, living in obedience to the Word motivated by love, not by law. We don’t keep His Word because it’s a law but simply because we love Him. Obedience to God’s Word is what faith is all about. Faith is an act and faith is revealed to the degree that we trust God. How far can you trust the Lord? That is the extent of your faith. Faith believes, speaks, and acts in line with God’s Word, but faith works when motivated through love. Jesus was obedient to His Father and He did so motivated by love. Jesus said that He only did that which He saw the Father doing. How different our lives will be if we would only do what we see in our Fathers Word. His Word is to be a lamp unto our feet, and a light unto our path. So walk in the example of our Lord Jesus Christ, keeping His Word, motivated by love. it will be a life lived that you won’t regret. A life filled with all that God is, and all that God has for you, for He and His Word are one.

Colossians 2:10
…and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;
To be complete here means to fill to the full, be satisfied. You will only be satisfied in life when Jesus is what you are focused on. Everything else will leave you feeling empty and unfulfilled. If your happiness and joy in life is found in the things of the earth, what you posses, or in the approval of other people whether they like you or not it will be temporary, for what is seen is subject to change. If we think anything other than Jesus is going to fulfill our life and make us complete we are still living under the deception of Adam and Eve looking to God’s creation to find joy and contentment in life instead of the Creator Himself, Jesus Christ of Nazareth through whom all things were created. Don’t worship the creation, including other people, for there is only One who will bring full value and worth and satisfaction to your life; the One who gave His life for you. The Lord is eternal and when your heart is set on Him you will walk in the only thing that will make you complete, Him.

6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,
7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
For all who have received Christ and been born again we are to now walk in Him, established in a lifestyle of faith. There are keys to walking by the faith of God that we must know to learn this new walk of faith. Faith is always present tense. Hebrews 11:1 reveals that faith is now (present tense). When we look to God’s Word we don’t see what Christ has done for us as something in the future, we see His Word as already fulfilled therefore we act upon the Word as if it is so because it is. Faith is the evidence of things not seen, which means we don’t base what we believe on what we see in the natural, we base our belief on what God’s Word says. His Word is the source of our faith so we feed on the Word of God for this is how faith comes. Faith also calls those things which be not as though they were. Faith does not deny the circumstances we see, but we confess God’s Word magnifying God and His truth instead of magnifying natural circumstances. We do not look to the things which are seen, but to the Word of God our source of faith. We abound in faith with thanksgiving, always grateful for what Christ has done for us. To walk in Him we must be established in bible faith, for this is how Jesus our example lived His life here on earth.

8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ
9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
In verse 9 the phrase “and be found in Him” means to obtain Christ. When we put our faith in Jesus we should no longer strive to obtain things, or human status, we have obtained all we need in Christ Jesus. Our sole worth in life should now only be found in Him and nothing else, and like the apostle Paul we should count all things loss and focus on knowing Jesus. The apostle Paul before coming to Christ found his worth in how he lived his life. He described himself as a strict Pharisee, someone who was wrapped up in finding his own self worth and believed he was better than other people. But after receiving the gift of salvation he knew that his self worth was no longer to be found in what he had done, for he could not make himself right with God. He realized his worth was now found in who he was in Christ as a child of God and not how he had lived his life. Once you are born again don’t continue to live your life basing your worth on what you have done, but instead on who you are in Christ Jesus. Find yourself “in Christ” by counting all things as loss and focusing you life on getting to know Him. As you do, you will find the new you.
