You Are The Righteousness of God

Galatians 5:1
IN [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].

Anytime a believer in Christ is trying to get right with God they do not understand as the church at Galatia did not fully understand that you cannot on your own merit be made right with God. Righteousness is a free gift that we receive as Romans 5:17 tells us, we receive this gift of righteousness and can then reign in this life. For anyone who accepts Christ as their Savior has become the righteousness of God. It’s not something you have been given but in fact what you have become. Anyone who is trying to get right with God by their own works is living under a yoke of slavery. This does not mean that once we have received this gift it is bondage to now walk in obedience to the Word of God, which is doing what is right in God’s sight. Because we have become right with God we now have this new man on the inside who desires to do what is right. As we yield to our spirit, this new man, we do what is right. We do what is right in God’s sight not to get right with God, but because we already are right with God. When we walk in the spirit, choosing to do what our new nature desires, we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. So choose to do what is right in God’s sight not to get right with God, but because you already are.

The Gift of Righteousness

Galatians 3:29
And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Through Christ we are heirs according to the promise given to Abraham. We are one with Christ and therefore heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus, redeemed from the curse of the law. Abraham was given a promise by God to be made righteous, receiving right standing with God, and in doing so he became an heir of God. By faith in Christ we become partakers of that same promise. Once born again we receive our right standing with God through His gift of righteousness. This right standing with God has given us the rights to all that God has provided for us because we are now children of God. As His children we can come to the Father in faith and receive all that He has promised us through Christ Jesus. Every promise He has given to us is ours by birthright because of the gift of righteousness. By faith receive all that is your in Christ because you are now in right standing with God.

God Loves You

John 17:23
I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.

Do you think God the Father loves His Son? How much do you think God loves His Son? No one would probably question the love God has for His own Son, but many question God’s love for them. Yet Jesus reveals to us in n this verse that the Father loves us the same as He loves His Son Jesus. Many would question if that is true, but if you believe the words of Jesus that is exactly what He said so it must be true. Some would say they don’t feel like God loves them but that is where they make the mistake of walking by sight (feelings) and not by faith (His Word). The greatest proof God loves you is seeing the picture of Jesus on the cross for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him would have everlasting life. The reason it is so important for us to know and believe the love God has for us is because perfect love casts out fear. If the devil can keep you in fear your faith won’t work. Settle it in your heart once and for all God loves you just as He loves Jesus. Walk in the reality of that love and you will walk free from fear.

Keep His Word

John 14:23
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; …

God has revealed His love for us by sending Jesus to the cross. There is no doubt about God’s love for us for that love was revealed to us when Christ bore our sin, sickness, punishment, and shame on the cross. For greater love has no one then to lay down their life for another. But how is our love for Jesus revealed? Jesus tells us in the above verse. If we truly love Him we will keep His Word. When you talk about obedience to the Word of God today many say you are teaching legalism and bondage. But obedience to God’s Word brings liberty not bondage. Jesus said if you become one with His Word, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. In the Old Testament they were to obey God’s Word because it was the law. In the New Testament we obey the Word of the Lord because of love. Faith works through love. Faith is acting upon and in line with the Word of God. But our faith only works when we do so because we love Him. Our love for the Lord is revealed in our obedience to Him.

We Can Do What Jesus Did

John 14:12
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”

Jesus said it was not Him but the Father in Him that did the works which He did. In Acts 10:38 we are told that God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and power who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed of the devil. Jesus did not do the miracles He did because He was God, if that were true then we would not be able to do them for we are not God. Jesus most certainly is God who came in the flesh to the earth, but He did the works by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Upon putting our faith in Jesus Christ we can do the same works Jesus did because it is the same Holy Spirit living in us that was with Him. He has given us a Helper to do the work. Now all we have to do is believe in Him, and we too can do the same works He did by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is the Head, we are the body. We are His hands and His Word spoken in this earth. Step out in faith and know that you have the same Holy Spirit in your life to do the work.

Abundant Life

John 10:10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

We know God is not a thief, so anything that involves stealing, killing, or destroying is not from God but from the thief himself, satan. It is interesting to note that this verse in it’s context if you read the previous nine verses here you find out Jesus begins by teaching us that any shepherd who did not come through the door, which He tells us He is that door, is a thief. Jesus, according to Ephesians 4, is the One who gives us the five fold ministries gifts, which include the pastor. What Jesus is teaching us is that any pastor not gifted (ordained) by Him is a thief. This is the primary way satan steals, kills, and destroys through false doctrine and deceptive teaching. Paul called them teachers who would tickle one’s itching ears. So if we don’t want to be taken advantage of and we want to experience the life God has for us, we need a shepherd who will teach us as Paul also said, “the whole counsel of God.” Beware of having your ears tickled and only hearing what you want to hear but not receiving all of scripture, for when you receive the truth it will set you free to enjoy life to the full.

Your God Given Authority

Luke 10:19
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

The body of Christ should not be tread upon by the works of darkness, but should be treading upon and triumphing over all the power of the enemy because of the authority Jesus has given to us. You have been seated with Christ, far above all the powers and works of darkness. Jesus has delegated to us the same authority He has through the use of His name. It is the name of Jesus that is far above every name. When Christ cleansed us of our sin, He put us in right standing with God and therefore gave us the right to use His name. We must have understanding in our hearts of the power that is in that name and of our rightful place in Christ Jesus to use that name. Walk in the light of who you are as a child of God and the power that is in the name of Jesus and as you declare that name over the powers of darkness and their destructive works, you will trample them under your feet.

You Can Move Mountains

Mark 11:23
“Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.”

In Christ Jesus you have the ability to move mountains. Jesus did not say ask God to move the mountain, you command it to move. A mountain represents any obstacle that stands between you and that which God has promised is yours in Christ, or that which tries to stop you from carrying out His will for your life. Jesus gave an example before He spoke this to His disciples. He had spoken to a fig tree that was producing no fruit and He declared that no one would eat fruit from that tree again. At that moment it did not look like anything had changed. But the next day when they passed by that tree Peter noticed that it was now dead. It had died from the roots up. When you speak to any mountain in faith using the authority we have been given to do so through the name of Jesus, you know the work has begun from the roots up. Learn to use the name of Jesus and command that mountain to move.

Just Believe

Mark 9:23
Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

There is nothing impossible for those who walk in Bible faith. Faith believes in the heart what God has promised us is true and takes hold of that promise. Faith speaks in line with what one believes, and faith acts upon the Word of God. Find scripture that gives you the promise of what you are believing for. Meditate on those verses until they become real to your inner man (your spirit man). Then release your faith believing you have received when you pray, and stay in faith calling those things that do not exist as though they did. Faith does not deny the existence of a problem or obstacle, but denies it’s right to remain. Faith does not look at what is seen, does not become occupied with the natural, but it looks at what is not seen, the promise of God’s Word that is not yet manifest but sees it as a present day reality. Faith also acts upon the Word of God for faith without corresponding action is dead. We must act upon what God’s Word says. What man says is impossible, God says is possible to them that believe. Just believe!

Jesus Saves

Matthew 18:11
“For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost.”

Once you come to know Jesus you are no longer lost, you have been saved. The word saved is defined as: to rescue from danger or destruction, to save one from disease, to make well, heal, restore to health, to deliver from the Messianic judgement. If you know Jesus you are no longer lost, you have been saved. You are not going to be you already are. To walk in the reality of all Christ has done for us you must believe in your heart it is already so, for faith does not see what Christ has done for us as a promise to come, but a present day reality. It is no different then salvation for the sinner. God has already done what is needed for one to be born again. They must simply receive by faith what He has already done. And so it is with all we have in Christ, we need to see what He has done as a completed work. When you do then you will walk in what is already yours.
