One of the most vital truths we need to learn as a believer is who we are once born again. As you will see scripture teaches we are the “Breath of God” Himself. Think about that. Every born again believer is the breath of God, a part of Him. Find out how important that truth in your life as a child of God is in this series.

Hebrews 2:9
But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.
Jesus tasted death for all who put their trust in Him so that we can be delivered from death, and what came as a result of death. Death is separation from God, and separation from the God-kind of life He wants us to live. Because Jesus tasted death for us, we can now walk in the abundant life He has provided. A key to receiving this abundant life has to do with what we feed on and then speak over our lives. Proverbs 18:21 tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue.
Jesus said man does not live by bread alone but by every Word of God. Jesus also said the Words He spoke are Spirit and they are “life”. Scripture teaches us that out of the abundance of the heart our mouth speaks. So we now have the choice to continue to taste death by feeding on worldly things and therefore speaking death, or we can feed on God’s Word and taste life by speaking His Word.
Jesus Himself said He only spoke the Words He heard from the Father. Any believer who feeds on worldly things is going to fill their hearts with words of defeat not words of victory. Even James chapter 3 tells us our very own words are what determines the direction our life goes. If you want to live the abundant life God has for you, you must start feeding on the Word of God, and then speak in line with His Word, which produces life. The choice of death or life is up to you.

Titus 3:7
…so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
By grace (receiving what we did not deserve through faith in Christ) we have been declared righteous (justified), and made heirs of God. Having been made righteous, we are His children and therefore we now have a right to all that Christ has provided for us. When someone passes away they have a will. That will determines who will receive what that person has given to them as a part of their inheritance.
Jesus having died for us provided to all who become a part of God’s family an inheritance. He wrote it in His will, the New Testament. If someone receives an inheritance from another person they have to claim that inheritance. So it is with what Christ has provided for us. He has given us in His will what we now have a right to, but we have to claim our inheritance.
You don’t earn an inheritance, it is yours because it was willed to you. In the same way we don’t earn the inheritance God has for us, it already belongs to us, but we claim it by faith based on His written will. Take time to read and meditate on His Word so you can know of all He has provided for you, and claim by faith what you as child of God now have a right to because you are an heir of God.

Colossians 1:27
To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
The glory of God is His very presence. His glory is in us because He has given us the Holy Spirit. It is His very presence, the anointing of God, that removes the burdens and destroys the yokes of bondage off of our lives. For us to experience the power of God’s presence working in our life there are three things we should not do. Do not quench, resist, nor grieve the Holy Spirit.
To quench the Holy Spirit is like putting water upon a fire and putting out that fire. There are believers whom scripture tells us have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof. Quenching the Spirit is choosing to willfully live a life of disobedience toward God. When we do the Holy Spirit is being quenched by our lifestyle and we are denying His work in changing our lives.
This can lead to resisting the Holy Spirit, which means as the Spirit of God now tries to lead us away from wrong living by the inward witness we resist Him. The more we do our conscience is seared and becomes numb to the inward witness of the Spirit, and He becomes grieved because we are no longer responsive to Him. So don’t quench, resist, nor grieve the Holy Spirit of God. Yield to the Holy Spirit within, being obedient to His promptings, and this will help you to walk in the awareness of His glorious presence that removes burdens and destroys yokes of bondage.

Exodus 3:14
And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you.'”
The name of our God is the great “I AM”. He Is not the “I was”, nor the “I will be”. Many only think of God in relationship to what He has done, or others in what they hope He will do, but He is always present tense, for He is the great “I AM”. To walk by faith in who He is to us, we must acknowledge Him for who He is, present tense, for now faith is. Faith in God sees things in the present tense, not what has been or what one hopes will be.
In Psalm 35:3 the Word tells us He is our salvation. It doesn’t say He was, nor that He will be. The word salvation is defined as; welfare, prosperity, deliverance, salvation (by God), and victory. He is not going to be those things to us, He is those thing right now. God is saying to us I AM your welfare, prosperity, deliverance, salvation, and victory. When you start seeing Him as these in your life today, you can experience what He has for you.
Romans 4:17 tells us that the God-kind of faith calls those things which do not exist as though they did. If you want to see the great “I AM” manifested in your life, you cannot see Him as the one who will be. That is not who He is. You must see and declare Him for who He is. God has said I AM your shield, your exceedingly great reward. See Him for who He is, declare it so with your faith, and you will see manifest in your life the “I AM” whatever you need.

Every believer needs to be sharing and declaring the “Facts” of God in all He has done and is doing. If we don’t the generations to follow will not believe in the God in whom all things are possible. Find out more in this message by Dr. Terry Mize.

Colossians 2:8
Be careful not to let anyone rob you of this faith through a shallow and misleading philosophy. Such a person follows human traditions and the world’s way of doing things rather than following Christ.
We are warned over and over in scripture about not being deceived, robbed, and led astray by others. Here the warning is to beware of shallow and misleading philosophy, which is another way to say those who water down the Word of God. They tell people what they want to hear, or they simply won’t teach people the whole truth of God’s Word because they don’t want to offend anyone.
Recently I read a statement by a pastor who said he tells his congregation to come to church as little as possible. He tells them to sleep in or to go do other things with their family. How do you known when someone is robbing you through shallow philosophy? Simple, what they are saying goes contrary to the Word of God. As the apostle Paul told young pastor Timothy, “Preach the Word”. In other words, don’t give you own opinion or what you think, just declare the Word of God.
In the above example there are many scriptures that go against what this pastor is telling his congregation. Hebrews 10:25 tells us not to forsake assembling together (which refers to going to the house of God), and even so much the more not less, as the return of Christ draws near. As a believer you should heed the words of the apostle Paul above. Stop allowing people to rob you of your faith. Get connected to a pastor that will actually preach the Word, not his own philosophy. Doing so will keep you from being robbed of your faith.

Colossians 1:13
For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,…
When God made the earth and all that is in it and then made man placing him in a beautiful garden created just for him, the Bible says it was very good. There was no evil, no sickness, no sorrow, and no pain. All that is evil (not good) came from satan gaining access into this world through Adam and Eve’s act of disobedience. Darkness represents all that is evil. But praise God Jesus through His shed blood rescued us from this darkness, taking us out from the kingdom of this world and transferring us into the kingdom of God.
God told Adam he had dominion over all the earth and to therefore subdue it. Through our faith in Jesus Christ and our right standing with God we can do the same. The devil has only two weapons, deception and seduction. He will try to seduce us or to deceive us into doing or thinking what is harmful and wrong to gain control over our lives. But we have been given the same authority Adam had to subdue the powers of the enemy once born again. Don’t get seduced into doing or thinking things you know are not true. Keep your focus on God.
When someone is seduced they know they are doing or thinking wrong, but when someone is deceived they don’t know it. To avoid deception renew your mind to the Word of God and don’t try to reason it out, just believe it and act upon it. God’s people perish for a lack of knowledge, but if you know the truth, which is staying true to God’s Word, that truth will set you free from deception. So keep your heart set on God, and walk in the reality of the Word, and you can live on this earth in your rightful place with God; delivered from darkness and walking in the power of God’s kingdom and authority.

Forever, O LORD,
Your word is settled in heaven.
The most important thing to seeing God’s Word work in your life is getting it settled in your heart. To often believers may even know what God’s Word says, but not having it settled in your heart causes people to waiver. God’s Word is already settled in heaven. What He has said is absolute, and therefore should be fully believed. When His Word is settled in your life then you will listen to and go by only what His Word says, no matter what your circumstances say.
So the challenge is how do we get God’s Word settled in our hearts. Let me share with you four things that Smith Wigglesworth, who was a mighty man of God shared that he did in is own personal life. “There are four principles we need to maintain. First, read the Word of God. Second, consume the Word of God until it consumes you. Third, believe the Word of God. Fourth, act on the Word.”
You must maintain these in your life. Reading God’s Word should be a daily diet for the believer. To consume the Word means you meditate on key scriptures that tell you who you are, what you have, and what you can do until they consume you. Then you must believe in what it says, which leads to acting upon the Word. You cannot incline your ear to things contrary to God’s Word. You must incline your ear only to what God has said. When His Word is settled in your heart, you will see it work for you.
