Baptism of The Holy Spirit

Mark 1:8
“I baptized you with water; but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

Jesus desires for us to be more than just born again. It is His desire that we be immersed in the presence of God. If we will ask Him in faith, it is He who will baptize (immerse) us in the Holy Spirit. In Acts 1:8 Jesus told His disciples that they would receive power after the Holy Spirit came upon them and they would be able to go and do the works Jesus did. Acts 10:38 declares that Jesus was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power, and He went about doing good and healing those oppressed of the devil.

There is more than a born-again experience for the believer. When you are born again, your spirit is made new, and the Holy Spirit comes into your spirit. But when you are baptized in the Holy Spirit, you yield yourself unto the presence of God within you, and He comes upon you to empower you to set people free, following in Jesus’ example. Jesus Himself said in John 14:12 that the works He did we can do also.

This is a missing element in many believers’ lives. There are many churches that do not teach the “full gospel”, for being baptized in the Holy Spirit is a part of the good news, available to every believer. If you have not been baptized in the Holy Spirit, find a church that believes in all that Jesus taught, and learn how to receive this power for your life. Once you have received this power from on high, learn to yield unto Him every day by praying in your heavenly language, building yourself up on your most holy faith (Jude 1:20).
