The Armor of God

Ephesians 6:14-17
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;….

We live in a battle zone on the earth. This is the reason God gave us this supernatural armor. Learning what it is and how to walk in that armor not only protects us, but it is also what will help us to drive back our enemy whom Jesus has already defeated. To have your armor on you must walk in the light of what it is, actively using it every day. It is our new lifestyle of living as a believer in Christ.

You should have on the belt of truth, having a clear understanding of God’s Word through daily fellowship with God in His Word. You should have on the breastplate of righteousness, walking in the revelation of your right standing with God given to you through salvation. The gospel of peace should be a part of your life every day, that wherever you go you bring peace, not strife and division.

You should also be continually hearing the Word preached, keeping your shield of faith in place to quench the fiery darts of the devil. Your mind should be set on the hope of salvation that is to come, looking to the return of Christ, maintaining your helmet of salvation. Last but not least you should have the sword of the Spirit working for you each day, as you are daily confessing the Word of God over your life.

Christianity is not a lesson learned, but a life to be lived. Walk in the reality of the armor you have been given and you will be ready for every battle.
