teaching you how to walk in the light of god's word

Proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
One of the most important keys to helping people is learning to rely on the One who has been sent to give us Counsel, insight into all we do. There is no one size fits all Christianity, as I have found out many times. I remember when I got delivered from tobacco. I thought I had the answer to get everyone delivered, but I was wrong. It didn’t work for everyone. Obviously we are all different, and at different levels in our walk with God. So the more we can follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, the more successful we will be.
Look at Jesus, He did not minister to people the same way. With one blind man He spit on the ground and made clay, then rubbed it on his eyes, and yet when another blind man came to Him wanting to be healed, Jesus just spoke telling Him to receive his sight and he was healed. Jesus Himself said that He only did what He saw the Father do. Our Father knows every situation and therefore knows exactly what is needed, so when ministering to people we need to allow God to direct us and not think we already know what to do.
One thing we do know, when we are following the leading of the Holy Spirit, it will of course always be in line with His Word. I remember hearing of John G. Lake ministering to a man, instead of laying hands on him for healing he had a word of knowledge that he owed a family member some money. He told him to grab an envelope and go to the post office and mail the money and he would pray for him. He did so but was healed before he returned. So never take a one size fits all approach to helping people. Learn to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and you will never go wrong.
