teaching you how to walk in the light of god's word

1 Timothy 6:6 – Now godliness with contentment is great gain.
Great gain in life is finding that which makes you complete, having what will never leave you feeling empty. In life, titles, trophies, buckles, status, man’s approval, and worldly things will never make you complete. You will always feel like you are still lacking in some way, because knowing God and being in the will of God, fulfilling His purpose for our life, is the only true “great gain” that will make you complete. Anything else in life will always fall short. We achieve this “great gain” through godliness and contentment.
Godliness in this verse of scripture is defined as devoted to that which is well pleasing to God. To be devoted to what pleases God is to do what brings great joy to Him. When people are born again, and set free from the powers of darkness, God rejoices. The godliness we are to be living out is in doing what Jesus did. Going into our world and reaching people with the gospel. Yet the average believer almost never shares their faith nor lays hands on the sick, nor deals with setting people free. Most are to busy with their own daily agenda.
Contentment comes when we focus our life daily on our relationship with God, for when we do we become aware of the only One who will never leave us nor forsake us, and He never changes. This brings true contentment in life, knowing Him. If you want to experience the “great gain” God has available for your life, get devoted to what brings Him joy, and walk close to Him everyday. You will be glad you did.
