Clothed With Christ

Ephesians 6:14-17
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;….

Romans 13:14 tells us to put on Christ and make no provision for the flesh. When one becomes born again that is what they are suppose to do. If someone has to tell you what to do when the battles of life come, that is proof that you have not been living out daily the life of Christ, for if you have put on Christ you would already be doing what you need to do. It is your lifestyle, not something you go to when trouble comes.

The armor of God is the lifestyle of how a believer is to live everyday. You should have on the belt of truth, having a clear understanding of God’s Word. You should have on the breastplate of righteousness, walking in revelation of your right standing with God and therefore doing what is right. The gospel of peace should be a part of your life everyday, that wherever you go you bring peace, not strife and division.

You should be attentive to hearing the Word preached, keeping your shield of faith in place to quench the fiery darts of the devil. Your mind should be set on the hope of salvation that is to come, maintaining your helmet of salvation. Last but not least you should have the sword of the Spirit working for you each day, as you are daily confessing the Word of God.

Christianity is not a lesson learned, but a life to be lived. Live it daily and when battles come you will already know what to do because it’s how you live your life everyday.
