JESUS TOOK IT ALL – JOHNNY ROWLETT

Jesus on the cross took all our sin, our punishment, and the curse. He has done all that is needed for us. Great Word from Johnny Rowlett.

You Are Righteous

Galatians 5:1

IN [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].

Anytime a believer in Christ is trying to get right with God they do not understand as the church at Galatia did not fully understand, that you cannot on your own merit be made right with God. Righteousness is a gift that we receive as Romans 5:17 tells us, and we can then reign in this life. For anyone who accepts Christ as their Savior has received this gift or you have not been born again. Anyone who is trying to get right with God by their own works is living under a yoke of slavery.

This does not mean that once we have received this gift it is bondage to now walk in obedience to the Word of God, which would be doing what is right in God’s sight. Because we have become right with God we now have this new man on the inside who desires to do what is right. As we yield to our spirit (this new man who has been made right with God) we do what is right outwardly because our spirit who is recreated in the image of God desires to do so.

We do what is right in God’s sight not to get right with God, but because we already are right with God. It is this outward obedience to God and His Word that helps us to not give in to the ways of the old outer fleshly nature. When we walk in the spirit, choosing to do what our new nature desires which is in line with God’s Word, we do not fulfill the lust of the flesh. So choose to do what is right in God’s sight not to get right with God, but because you already are right with Him.

WHEN HE WAS ON THE CROSS, I WAS ON HIS MIND – JOHNNY ROWLETT

https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-rssb5-c84e56

Learn the truth about God never turning His back on you and how important you are to Him in this message by Johnny Rowlett at Christian Faith Fellowship.

God Needs You

Ephesians 4:16

16 For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to full maturity, building itself up in love.

God needs you! That’s right. So many believers think they need God, but if they are born again they have God. Do you realize how vital, how important you are? Every day that goes by in which you are not where God called you not only are you missing out on what God has for you, but God’s body is missing a vital part needed to fulfill His will and purpose. So many let day after day go by giving no thought to the fact that God has called you and gifted you to be a part of fulfilling all He desires to do in these last days. Every day that we allow to go by not connected where He has chosen for us to be is another missed opportunity to accomplish His will.

Jeremiah 3:15 tells us that God would give us shepherds who would feed us with knowledge and understanding. Jesus in John 10:1-9 teaches you will know that shepherd when you hear his voice. Hebrews 13:17 tells us to accept our God-given leader, and we should accept their authority: Heb. 13:17 “Obey your leaders, and accept their authority. They take care of you because they are responsible for you. Obey them so that they may do this work joyfully and not complain about you. (Causing them to complain would not be to your advantage.)” There are more verses than these, and therefore scripture is clear that we don’t look for a church, but a shepherd.

God needs you equipped and fully armed to be a part of His work in the earth. If we do not take to heart the importance of getting connected where God has chosen for us, we are not fulfilling His full and much needed purpose for us and His body. Your life is but a vapor scripture teaches. If you truly have a heart to honor God, stop making excuses. Get connected, and submitted where God has CALLED you because every day that goes by is another missed opportunity if we are not actively involved every week with the leadership and body God called us to. Answer the call. God needs you!

The Blessing of Abraham

Galatians 3:29

And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Through Christ we are heirs according to the promise given to Abraham. We are one with Christ and therefore heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus, redeemed from the curse of the law. Abraham was given a promise by God to be made righteous, receiving right standing with God. In receiving this right standing with God, the Lord also promised to bless Abraham.

By faith in Christ we become partakers of that same promise. Once born again we receive our right standing with God through His gift of righteousness. This right standing with God has given us the right to our inheritance because we are now sons and daughters of God. As scripture teaches us, if God did not spare His own Son for us, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things.

Often believers don’t receive what is rightfully theirs because they don’t think they deserve what God has provided. You don’t receive what He has purchased for you because you deserve it, but because you have been made the righteousness of God, it is now yours by birthright. Just as we did not deserve to be born again but received the gift of new life by faith in what Christ did for us, so do we receive all of our inheritance as a child of God. We have the blessing of Abraham for we are heirs according to the promise of God.

What Is A Christian

Matthew 16:24

Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone desires to be My disciple, let him deny himself [disregard, lose sight of, and forget himself and his own interests] and take up his cross and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying, also].

What exactly is a Christian? If you ask most believers today they would tell you that a Christian is someone who is born again. But the first time the word is ever used is in Acts 11:26 where the disciples where seen doing what Jesus had done, and they called them Christians, or Christ followers. Jesus wants us to be Christ followers, not just born again.

The first thing from the above verse we learn about being a Christ follower is that you must have a desire to follow Him. If you truly have such a desire then you must deny yourself and this is where many believers miss the mark of being a Christ follower. To deny self means you don’t live your life according to your will. You choose to give up your will and instead walk in His will for your life, loosing sight of your own interests. Then you wholly conform your life to His. Jesus Himself did not get His own will. He declared in the garden of Gethsemane, “Not my will Father, but yours be done”.

For example Jesus went to God’s house on their day of worship, and yet many believers today do not. Jesus forgave everyone, but there are believers today who still hold grudges. Jesus did not take offense, but many believers are offended because they identify with self and not with Christ. If you want to be a Christian (Christ follower), you must not only desire to do so, you must give up your will to wholly follow after His example, not getting your own way. This is what Jesus died for, so we could become like Him and change our world.

Do Not Harden Your Heart

Hebrews 3:7-8

7 That is why the Holy Spirit says,

“Today when you hear his voice,

8 don’t harden your hearts

as Israel did when they rebelled,

when they tested me in the wilderness.”

Scripture teaches us that the way God gives direction for our lives is through the inward witness, His Spirit bearing witness with our spirit. One of the things that will hinder our ability to know this inward witness is when our hearts become hardened. Here in Hebrews we are told when we do not respond to what God is showing us we harden our hearts toward Him. This will hinder our ability to be led by God in making right choices.

Delayed obedience is still disobedience and when we choose to not do what we know God has shown us we should be doing, we are turning away from following the path He has for our life. For example when you read the Word of God and see clearly what scripture teaches how a believer in Christ should live but we choose not to do so your hearts is becoming hardened.

The more hardened our hearts become we not only become more dull to God’s leading for our life, but this now makes us more susceptible to the deception of our enemy who wants to lead us down a path of destruction. He desires to kill, steal, and destroy. He often does so by leading us astray without us even knowing it, because we have become insensitive to God’s leading. When God leads us He leads us into an abundant life. So don’t delay in obeying God and you can follow His leading for your life into all He has planned for you.

God’s Love For Us

John 17:23

I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.

Do you think God the Father loves His Son? How much do you think God loves His Son? No one would probably question the love God has for His own Son, but many question God’s love for them. Yet Jesus reveals to us in this verse that the Father loves us the same as He loves His Son Jesus. Many would question if that is true, but if you believe the words of Jesus that is exactly what He said.

Some would say they don’t feel like God loves them but that is where they make the mistake of walking by sight (feelings) and not by faith (His Word). The greatest proof God loves you is seen in the picture of Jesus on the cross for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him would have everlasting life.

The reason it is so important for us to know and believe the love God has for us is because perfect love casts out fear. If the devil can keep you in fear your faith won’t work. Settle it in your heart once and for all, God loves you with an everlasting love just as He loves Jesus. Walk in the reality of that love and you can walk free from fear.

Love Keeps His Word

John 14:23

Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; …

God has revealed His love for us by sending Jesus to the cross. There is no doubt about how much God loves us, for that love was revealed to us when Christ bore our sin, sickness, punishment, and shame on the cross. Greater love has no one then to lay down their life for another. But how is our love for Jesus revealed. Jesus tells us in the above verse.

If we truly love Him we will keep His Word. When you talk about obedience to the Word of God today many say you are teaching legalism and bondage. But obedience to God’s Word brings liberty not bondage. Jesus said if you become one with His Word, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.

In the Old Testament they were to obey God’s Word because it was the law. In the New Testament we obey the Word of God because of love. Faith works through love. Faith is acting upon and in line with the Word of God. But our faith only works when we do so because we love Him. Our love for the Lord is revealed in our obedience to Him for if we love Him, we will keep His Word.
