1 Peter 1:15
But because the God who called you is holy, you must be holy in every aspect of your life.
Holiness is not something you hear a lot about today, but it has never changed with God. Scripture teaches us that Jesus will come back for a “glorious” church, which refers to believers overflowing with God. One of the biggest problems we see today that is leading many believers down a deceptive path is the lack of holiness. As the above verse clearly teaches, God expects us to be holy in every aspect of our life. What does this actually mean? Vines expository dictionary gives us a better understanding of this word. It defines holy as “godlikeness”. Simply put, we should live like our God, set apart from a lifestyle of worldly living.
The significance of this is that God cannot work through and show His glory to others through His body that is not living holy. We are to be a vessel of honor, set apart for the Master’s use. Today it is all together common to have pastors, worship leaders, and believers in a bar on Saturday night drinking, and then in the pulpit on Sunday. The sad truth is there is no true anointing on such people. Therefore those whom they are to minister too are not delivered, but simply have a soulish experience instead of encountering truth, and God’s manifest presence that would free them from the bondages of the world.
Jesus did not shed His blood for us to live a life of sin, but to free us from sin and it’s destructive ways. God has not changed, for He has come to transform us so He can change lives through us. We need to be holy, live godlike, so that He can manifest His glory through us to set people free instead of accepting wrongful living that will in the end only bring death. The wages of sin has not changed. God is ready to manifest His glory through a holy church, and to set the captives free!

Romans 8:37
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Through our relationship in Christ Jesus and what He has done for us we are more than conquerors through His shed blood. How do we walk in this victorious life Christ has provided for us? We overcome by the blood of the Lamb, the Word of our testimony, and we love not our own lives. The first thing we must understand is to walk in the revelation of what the blood of Jesus has done for us. We have to believe in our hearts that when Jesus shed His blood, we were provided a new covenant we are to walk in.
You must know what your new covenant rights are according to the Word of God. When you know what your rights are you must declare those rights as already done with your own words to take possession of what is now yours. Like the children of Israel these promises have already been given to us, but we must take possession of what Christ has provided through a faith filled confession. We must also chose to walk in God’s will for our life and not our own will as shown to us through His Word.
For example, faith works through love. If we know what belongs to us and have a faith filled confession but choose to not walk in love, our faith will not work. We must lay our life down and choose this new way of life He has planned for us. The payment has been made and the new covenant promises await. Now take possession of what is yours, for you are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus who loves you!

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Death refers to being separated from God who is life itself. It was sin that separated man from his relationship with God. Most think eternal life refers to the future when we go to heaven. It includes the future, but Jesus said in John 17:3 that eternal life was to know God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son. Because of the blood Jesus shed, all who receive this life have had their sin washed away and can now know the Father and His Son, and this is the very reason He came.
You should not wait until you get to heaven to know your heavenly Father. In the book of James we are told that if we draw near to God He will draw near to us. He has every answer you will ever need. Take time to experience eternal life now by going to God’s Word and fellowshipping with Him every day. Every time you open God’s Word and listen to what it says, God is speaking to you.
Take time to pray and develop your relationship with God. Don’t do all the talking, take time to get quite and listen. The door of fellowship has been opened. When you spend time with God He rubs off on you. You will know true peace and contentment if you will just make it a priority to spend time with Him. Get to know God, not just know about Him, and you will experience the gift of eternal life.

Great Word given on Easter Sunday night at CFF, helping the body to understand faith in the day we live.

Philippians 3:10
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
In the above verse Paul describes four things that he was in pursuit of with his life. The reason these four things were so important to him is because he knew how gracious God had been to him, forgiving him of having lived a life that even led him to persecute the body of Christ. These four things should become the goal of every believer. Let’s take a quick look at them.
Every believer should daily be pursuing an intimate relationship with God. Those who are not will live fearful of the things we will see in the last days. We should also desire to see His power working in and through our lives. Many sad to say do not because they don’t pursue to get under leadership that teaches them the full gospel. We also should want to live a life like God, which means you won’t be liked by everyone. Last but not least, we should conform to His death, choosing to daily lay our lives down for His. Every believer who is grateful for what God has done for them just as Paul was, should be pursuing these same four in their life every day.

As a believer, we should be walking in the resurrection power of Christ. Find out from the apostle Paul’s letter to the Philippians how you can walk in the power of the resurrection.

Matthew 6:25
Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life…
One of the most detrimental things to life is worry. Think about these questions for a moment. Has there ever been a time in your life where worrying helped you? Did worrying about anything ever bring resolve to the problem? The answer of course would have to be no. Then why do believers worry, especially when Jesus told us not to worry. Doing so means we are not obeying our Lord who told us not to worry.
The devil loves for believers to worry. In doing so they are disobeying what Jesus said, and where worry is present faith cannot work. The reason people worry is because they have not taken the time to master their thought life as taught in scripture. The battle ground for every person is in the mind. The devil knows if he can get you to take the wrong thoughts he can get you to worry. One translation of the above verse even says take no thought for your life. Worry means you have taken the wrong thought.
This is why we have the Word of God, which contains the knowledge of God (our weapons). You must learn to take every thought that comes, that is contrary to what God’s Word says, and cast it down by speaking God’s Word. If you do not learn to do so you will lose the battle of the mind, and can therefore be defeated by the devil. Stop taking thoughts contrary to God’s Word. Declare what His Word says every time such thoughts come, and you can live worry free and win the battle of the mind.

Romans 6:11
Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Christ took our sin on the cross and freed us from sin and all that came as a result of sin; sickness, disease, poverty, lack, fear, worry, stress, etc. Consider yourself dead to all that came through sin and alive to all that we now have through Christ. Stop thinking about and magnifying what you see in the natural; instead meditate on and magnify what Christ has done for you. Scripture teaches us that as a man thinks, so is he.
If you see yourself sick, lacking what you need, or defeated, you are going to continue to allow the very things that Christ has freed you from to overtake you. You need to renew your mind to what God says about you. Consider all that Christ has done for you instead of what you may be facing in the natural. We walk by faith (what God’s Word says), not by sight.
To do so you must consider the Word above everything else. Stay in the Word of God and focus your thoughts on what it says by thanking Him for what He said is already yours. The Word is truth and even though it may be true that you are facing something in the natural, the truth will change what may be currently true in your life. Truth revealed through the Word means God is faithful to fulfill His Word. What you see is subject to change. What are you considering?

Romans 5:1
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,…
Through Jesus we have been given peace with God. The word peace means to be one with, a state of harmony. Once born again we become one spirit with the Lord. As Jesus is so are we in this present age because we are one with Him. There is no battle between you and God, because you are one with Him. The devil does all he can to convince believers that God is mad at them so that they won’t draw near to God. But when Jesus bore our sin He also bore the punishment our sin deserved.
The Word of God tells us we will not face the wrath of God to come. Scripture also teaches us that those who keep their minds fixed on God and not on the things around them, God will keep them in perfect peace for they trust in Him. You do this by getting a picture of God’s truths established in your heart. When you do peace will be the result.
When we know that we have peace with God and we walk in that peace by focusing our thoughts on Him, trusting in Him, peace will surround you. You won’t be depressed, full of fear, and doubt God. Peace will be present and therefore your faith will work for you, leading you into a victorious life. So don’t run from God, run to Him and focus your thoughts upon Him, because He has given us peace.

Jesus said He would be three days and three nights in the earth. God always does what He says. In this teaching, you will clearly see that Jesus did not die on Friday, but in fact, He died on the equivalent to our Wednesday. See this clearly taught through the Word and why it is so important to our faith.
