teaching you how to walk in the light of god's word
Hebrews 12:2
Now stay focused on Jesus, who designed and perfected our faith. He endured the cross and ignored the shame of that death because He focused on the joy that was set before Him; and now He is seated beside God on the throne, a place of honor.
There was a master archer who was training young students who hung a wooden crow from a tree and then called all of his students. He told them to aim at the eye of the crow. He called his first student and asked what he saw. He responded saying he could see the trees of the forest, and all the plants and surrounding things. He had him step aside. He called the next student and asked the same question. He responded in a similar manner seeing the leaves being blown by the wind as well. He told him to step aside.
As he called each student they all had similar answers. Then he called on Arjuna. When asked the same question he said all he could see was the eye of the crow. His instructor told him to release his arrow and he hit the eye of the crow. In today’s times many are allowing all that is going on around them and all that is happening in the world to grab their attention. In doing this they are missing the target of walking in the footsteps of Jesus.
Jesus could have gotten easily distracted in going to the cross. But He kept His focus on the joy that was beyond the pain and suffering of the cross. He saw you and me born again. This is how He was able to fulfill the will of the Father. If you want to fulfill God’s will stop looking at other things. Stay focused on Jesus through the Word and in fellowship with Him. In doing so you will walk by faith and not by sight, fulfilling God’s will for you.
